Programming for next week

Huh, time - it has been doing weird shit again! Where did it go? Also, I feel extremely hungover today, despite yesterday evening having been one of the few this week to not involve alcohol at all. Ugh.

Anyway - Gabriella, Unni!

We'll be in Stockholm from Tuesday morning to Sunday afternoon. I'll probably be sleeping there all week, and Val will be doing a bit more travelling back and forth to fetch J for the days he'll be with us (probably Friday and Saturday). But basically, we're around.

Here's a completely pick-and-mix list of activities! It is not an inflexible timetable, because I don't believe in those and neither does my rather dysfunctional body.



Tuesday

Lectures! For example:

Also lunch somewhere in the middle of all this - I suggest Vetekatten! Because I can get a sandwich there which is gluten free and good! And it's relatively central. But am open to other ideas. Obv. it's not the place for warm food, but maybe in the middle of summer that's fine.

Wednesday

Possibly museums? Definitely an Unni! Probably wandering around in Kungsträdgården!

We have pride packs, which amongst other things give us free entry to Fotografiska, which currently has an exhibition of Robert Mapplethorpe's photos - Unni, would you be interested in going to that, or should we go on Wednesday morning before you arrive?

Dinner! We thought Lao Wai, but they're closed for the summer, and then we thought sushi, but then we thought Unni would hurt us, so any suggestions? Type of food or a specific place if you know stockholm. Our fallback is Wagamama, because we know they're good at catering to different requirements. They're over by Centralstationen.



Friday:

Pinkwashing, Pride Sergel, kl 13 - 13:45

& otherwise otherwise we'll be exploring town! Gamla stan is on the list for Friday, Unni - do take this as a measure of our love for you. & We're probably going to take you to the sf bookshop just for laughs. Well, also J is getting really into manga and is tentatively interested in comics generally, so we figured we could let him loose in there and see if he finds anything.

Saturday:

Watching the parade! (Not going in it this year because I'm not feeling up to it physically.)

Evening expedition to see the last Harry Potter film.

I don't know, but it certainly didn't end up at my place.

The program for Tuesday sounds good - we could meet up at 10.30 ish by Plattan, perhaps?

Thursday-ish dinner suggestions: If sushi if of interest but should not be the exclusive dish, we have restaurant Shogun in the OId Town or Murasaki by Medborgarplatsen. Both have various Japanese food, it's all good, and you can get sushi, meat or vegetarian. Shogun's a bit more fancy and thus expensive.
More Japanese can be found near Sveavägen/Rådmansgatan, both Sakura and Lilla Tokyo are good, but their speciality are sukiyaki/yakiniku dishes. If everyone eats meat, though, nobody will go hungry ^_^

Up at Mariaberget (near Slussen, you kind of look out at the Finland ferries) there's also a good vegetarian place, if that's interesting I can ask my sister what it's called.

If you're dropping by the bookstore on Friday, I'll be working on the floor. Have a break at around fourish, so if you're in the vicinity and wanna have a coffee or something, just let me know. Also, standing offer to guide J through the comics and manga shelves ;)

It's a plan!

We'd like to try Shogun. It seems like it should have options for everyone, and this will be our main fancy meal out for the week - other nights we're likely to be just grabbing something on the run.

Sounds good to me! I have no idea how full they are likely to be, but if you want to be on the safe side, a booking doesn't hurt. They have some "fake Japanese-style" rooms which are nice to get, if you're a group of people. It looks like you're sitting on the floor from outside, but it's really (comfy) benches.

Btw, I'm not picky. I eat practically everything (except oysters) so if there are dietary requiremnts, just point the way and I'll follow =)

I wouldn't hurt you over sushi! I might, however, slip some whale meat into the quorn pot at some point in the future. :|

I jest. XD Anyway, that looks like a great programme and I look forward to it meeting Real Life(tm)! Can I get the Pride ticket(s) on site, or do I need to send you money so you can get it for me before I arrive?

You actually probably don't even need pride tickets - we have them for bonuses and free museums and solidarity and things like that, but the actual pride areas are free entry this year. :D :D :D

Can happily do either! Which language we're mostly talking at the weekend may depend on whether Unni and I can understand each other in Swedish, actually... otherwise I speak Swedish whenever possible.
