I went out into the forest yesterday. With my bike - I'm not really that great on my feet but I can cycle pretty well - so I was mostly on the main track, though I abandoned my bike for a while to explore off it too.








This somehow fails to capture both quite how far up I had just cycled and how dilapidated my bike actually is. I guess a photo can't quite convey that aura of "the wheels might fall off any moment now."








And finally here's your obligatory photo of a mushroom. There were mushrooms everywhere and I could not identify a single one. (my rule is: kantareller! I totally recognise them! Anything else is assumed toxic.)

Like right out of a Lindgren story, wow.

(That your bike totally looks like my mother's old bike makes it extra nostalgic.)

*laughs* it is a bit. It's really unlike the landscape back in my bit of the UK - even when we have a lot of the same trees they're in different ratios, it's just not stony and mossy like this, and there's way denser undergrowth.

My ancient bike! It seems like a pretty classic sort around here, although mine is the rustiest. Oops. :)

Lovely! Where is this, if I may ask? Somewhere in Sweden, I know, but where?

This is in roslagen, about 70km north-east from Stockholm. Mainland, not the actual archipelago. We live almost as far east as you can go in central Sweden without living on an island.

There are some pretty great places around here. I'm pretty fond of my bike too, although it's made of rust and only has gears in theory.
