The adoption one kind of turns the you-can't-adopt-because-you're-gay thing* on its head.
*which is no longer a universal law as of the last ten or twelve years, thank goodness. But it's still the case in a lot of places - homophobic couples are allowed to adopt, while same-sex couples aren't allowed to, even though it would make so much more sense for it to be the other way around.
