I feel stressed. What do I feel stressed about? About posting, of course! About all those things I was going to post about that were going to be great and that I've been kind of avoiding! So I'm just going to shove that pile of stuff I was going to talk about aside for the time being and say that midsummer - which is new to me as it passes without comment in my part of the UK - was good but that my feet haven't forgiven me yet.

We spent midsummer (eve, which is when you celebrate) in Stockholm as opposed to Out In The Countryside, because we're completely backwards people, though we did go out to Rosersberg Palace and eat lunch sitting down by the water, which is probably more in keeping as an activity in that it was in the middle of nowhere and very green. There weren't really people around, because there were no actual midsummer events there, so it was really peaceful. It was also a bit more of a walk from the train station than my body was actually comfortable with; it's been a while since I actually tested my limits with walking, as I've been cycling everywhere I possibly can for the last few months. Found them! Ouch.

(Then we went/shuffled slowly and painfully back to A & S's place and had dinner and drank snaps - do not attempt the latter without the former - which improved matters. We begged them for childrens book recs. They begged us for fantasy recs. And steampunk recs, which I have to say I actually came up completely blank on. What is good for steampunk? I probably have read a bunch, but it's faded into the background somewhere along with most other things I read in college and all I remember is the stuff that annoyed or offended me; plus I'm still not really in fantasy/sci-fi-reading mode at the moment anyway.)

Came home around midnight. It was still light when we got on the bus, and by the time we got off it was about as dark as it gets here right now - a deeper blue sky with light hanging on down by the horizon.

Yesterday we didn't move, which I believe is completely traditional.

Glad midsommar! Only a few days late.
